  • How long is a session and what should I expect?
Newborn sessions can last anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours depending on the temperament of your baby, sleepiness, and how often we may need to pause for some soothing or feeding. This is one of the reasons we do not guarentee the number of looks we will capture in our time together. Know that this a very unpredictable process and we always expect there to be lots of down time. The majority of our time together will actually not be spent photographing. Most of our time will be spent soothing, feeding, and preparing your little one for their next look. The best thing we can do to support this process is to remain calm and keep the environment stress-free. Babies can sense the energy and mood around them, so patience is key!
  • Do you provide the wraps?
I sure do! We have wraps, bows, baskets, portable flooring, and a variety of textiles. I will provide you with some photographs of color options to get a general idea of what appeals to you most.
  • What can I do to prepare for an In-Home Styled Session?
Warmer temperatures keep the babies asleep, comfortable, and safe. If you are scheduling an in-home session it is important to keep the room warm (80-85 degress) starting one half hour before our session. We will also travel with a portable heater. Eliminate as many distractions as possible. If possible, reduce the number of people and pets present. We want to create a quiet and calm environment. It is helpful to feed your baby 20-30 minutes before session and keep them awake until we begin. Pacifiers can often be used to help soothe babies into the poses and facilitates getting them to sleep. If your baby is not used to a pacifier or you do not feel comfortable offering one, do not worry, it is not a must.

  • Do I need to help wrap and style my baby?
Once your baby is fed and dressed, you get to sit back and relax! We've got this! You may find that you have the urge to jump in but we ask that you trust our patience. If your baby is crying and that becomes hard for you to tolerate in any way, just let us know. We want everyone to feel comfortable. Otherwise, we will handle all the wrapping, styling, and even soothing.
